On Monday, the team began the day with devotion at the Pavoni’s house. Kim led us in a wonderful time of discussing Ephesians 2:1-10.
The rest of the morning was spent getting ready for camp-Daniel Pavoni and Rob Rhodes went to the facility in São Marcos to reserve space for our camp on Friday, Megan and Jacob prepped the final things for the craft, Gloria and Cyla got together the snack for the day, and the rest of us helped Hannah around the house.
We shared lunch with Daniel, Hannah, Luca at their home, and then headed over to the church in Belas to set up for camp.
We were hoping for a good turn out with both regulars to the Belas Connection time, we anticipated the kids arriving about 3:00 pm as we advertised. But, we found out that most schools in the neighborhood were not out for spring break until after Tuesday.
Despite this setback, we still had 12 children play soccer with us, and were able to connect with them. Six of them joined us at the church for the Bible time, and 3 stayed to do the craft with us!
We ended the night at Jonathan and Traci Shoemakers, who made us a delicious Taco dinner! They were kind enough to also let us prep part of the craft for Wednesday, which involved much hot glue!!
Continue to pray for us as we strive to intercede for the cities around us, encourage those doing full time ministry here, and create a space for these children to know they are loved and valuable to God.
