Portugal 2025 - Day 4

April 09, 2025

Tuesday dawned sunny and warm! We began the day with breakfast at the hotel and devotion at the Pavoni’s.

After prepping for camp we went to São Marcos, a unique bedroom community with 25,000 people. If this community holds true to the evangelical rate in Portugal, there are 250 evangelical Christians in the city. There are very few churches that serve the community, and it’s been difficult to get to know families in the area.

Pray that the Pavoni’s would be able to support the church they serve with in the community, that  God would break down the barriers with the families.

We then enjoyed a lunch at an ocean front restaurant and were able to walk along the beach, put our feet in the Atlantic, and pick up some shells.

The second day of camp had more kids than the first, but as they were still in school on Tuesday, we pivoted to start camp later, but still pack in football (soccer, the kids just get mad when we call it that), craft, snack, and Bible time.

We went to a family who have become part of the Pavoni’s family here, Edu and Andrea, and their two daughters Clara and Rebecca. They made us a traditional Brazilian meal as they are from there (it was absolutely delicious).

Continue to pray for this week to be fruitful for Christ, and encouragements for the hearts of the team. Many of us have worries back home or outside of this trip that we are walking through.
