Portugal 2025 - Day 5

April 10, 2025

Day 3 of camp did not start as any of us planned, all four Pavoni Kids woke up with health issues. The team had our devotion at the hotel while they figured out what the situation was. As a team, we decided we would love to help support the Pavonis by helping clean their home, doing laundry, and brining moral support. We ate lunch at their house before prepping what we needed for our first full day (the schedule was shortened the first 2 days due to kids still being in school, not on spring break) of camp.

We got to the church and started setting up the basketball hoop, and soccer goals, and tug of war rope, plus all the crafts and snacks.

There were 33 kids that played football, some chose not to participate in the craft and Bible time. But it was a smooth day, the gospel was preached to some who had never heard it before, and all knew they were welcome.

It was a warm, summer night and we spent it in downtown Lisbon getting dinner, ice cream, and seeing the sights.

The sports ministry at Belas fluctuates a lot, in terms of which students attend, so continue to pray that the connections made this week will be strong enough to bring these children and families back to Belas Connection, resulting in long-lasting personal relationship that would grow into discipleship.
