A Discipleship Vision for Trinity Church

The Christian life begins with hearing the gospel call to be Jesus’ disciple, and choosing to follow him. Then what?  We grow… like Oaks of Righteousness. Looking at Jesus’ use of the word “disciple” and how the apostles used the word “calling,” we quickly discover what a mature disciple looks like. There are four callings or branches on this tree for us to develop in our lives: 1) fellowship, 2) transformation, 3) sacrifice and 4) service. These four pursuits should occupy every wakeful moment of our lives. Learning how to engage in these four callings and follow Jesus is not a sequential, check-the-box type of growth, but rather a continuous and intentional journey with Jesus and other believers toward maturity. This sermon series will examine what it means to be called, how to grow the four branches of discipleship in our lives, and how to live out this discipleship here at Trinity Church and in our world.
