The story of Ruth reminds us that God loves people loyally! Our world can hold others at arm’s length, turn a blind eye to their struggles, and unfairly label their conditions. God welcomes people who feel distanced, reaches out to people who feel distraught, and comes alongside people who are disadvantaged. The book of Ruth is God’s love story for the weak, the foreigner, the maligned, and the underprivileged. It is also His clear call to His people to do the same for people who want to be included, but are not yet a part of his kingdom and story.
